Transesophageal color Doppler echocardiography (TEE) has rev-olutionized the diagnostic approach to heart disease. The enhanced image quality and improved visualization of intracardiac flow makes TEE an indispensable technique for diagnosis and treatment.
This Atlas describes a wide range of heart diseases selected from perioperative examinations performed at the Department of Cardiac Surgery of the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
This Atlas of TEE is more than an introduction to this new technique: it represents a manual of heart pathology described through TEE examinations and provides cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and all physicians involved in the management of heart disease with an extraordinary tool for the diagnosis of a wide rangeof heart disease.
This Atlas is also available as an electronic book: "Interactive Atlas of TEE" published on CD-ROM by Springer-Verlag. The present book includes a diskette which contains a reduced version of the CD-ROM. With this program the reader can visualize the transversal and the longitudinal TEE standard views in their spatial orientations.
